- Established in 1925, Mount St. Mary’s College is nationally recognized for it academic programs and its focus on preparing the next generation of citizen leaders.
- A full 59 percent of baccalaureate graduates from Mount St. Mary's College go own to earn advanced degrees, either at the Mount or at other leading colleges and universities across the country.
- Starting with the inaugural Class of 1929, the Mount has awarded more than 18,000 degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- 30 MSMC students have been awarded the prestigious Rockefeller Brothers Fund Fellowship for Aspiring Teachers of Color — more than any other college in the entire nation.
- Mount St. Mary’s College was awarded a Minority Access to Research Careers grant from the National Institutes of Health to mentor undergraduate research in the sciences.
- In the last few years, Mount students from the College's Pre-Law program have been named Best Attorney twice and Best Witness twice at the Great Western Regional competition for the American Mock Trial Association.
- The first baccalaureate of science in nursing program in California was established at Mount St. Mary’s College, graduating its first class in 1952. Today, the College offers associate, bachelor's, master’s, and certificate programs in nursing.
- Mount students in the Student Ambassador Program promote college attendance by mentoring hundreds of teenagers attending Los Angeles public and private high schools.
- The College offers a hands-on film and social justice degree program and hosts an annual Human Rights Film Festival.
- Nearly two-thirds of MSMC students participate in community service across the state of California.
- The Mount’s Chalon Campus is located just above the Getty Center in the hills of Brentwood and is home to the College's traditional undergraduate program.
- The College’s downtown Doheny Campus features the historic Doheny Mansion, part of a century-old estate once owned by L.A. oil baron Edward L. Doheny. This campus is home to the College’s associate of arts program as well as its co-ed Weekend College, graduate, and certificate programs.
- The Mount is the only Catholic college primarily for women in the western United States, although its both its graduate and weekend baccalaureate programs for adults are co-ed.
