Each student is assigned an advisor who will assist in clarifying program requirements, class schedules, and academic and career goals. The students meet with their advisor at least once a semester for advisement and registration purposes.
Although the individual faculty advisors and the Advisement Center staff make every effort to provide advisement for the student, it is ultimately the student's responsibility to see that all procedures are followed and all requirements are fulfilled.
An advisor hold ensures that students meet with their academic advisor at least once a semester to discuss their educational progress toward their degree completion goals. Meeting with your advisor is mandatory, and students will not be able to register for classes until they have done so. Only a student's academic advisor (or designated representative from the student's academic department) can remove a hold.

The ADVISOR HOLD will remain on your record unless you plan to return to MSMC the following semester. The Advisor Hold is a registration hold and ONLY prevents registration.
