Mount St. Mary’s College provides doctoral education to a diverse student body culminating in physical therapists with sound clinical reasoning in a variety of settings who are committed to professional and personal development, social citizenship and ethical, compassionate care. Mount St. Mary’s College is a liberal arts college with two historic college campuses in Los Angeles. The Doctor of Physical Therapy Program (DPT) is located on the historic Doheny Campus celebrating more than 30 years of physical therapy education. The department has 7 core faculty lines and 40 adjunct clinical faculty members offering a collegial, supportive environment. A core component of the mission of the College and Program is building leadership skills to foster the spirit to serve others.
Mount St. Mary’s College invites applicants for an eleven-month, tenure-track faculty appointment at the assistant or associate level in the DPT Program. The applicant will teach in their area of expertise and develop/coordinate opportunities for experiential learning and inter-professional education within the curriculum. Applicants must hold an academic doctorate (Ph.D., Ed.D., D.Sc.) in physical therapy or a related area of study and must be able to demonstrate a history of scholarly achievement, clinical experience, strong teaching and communication skills. Candidate nearing the completion of a doctorate program will be considered for a lectureship (temporary position) with the possibility of conversion to tenure-track upon completion of the doctorate. Applicants must hold or be eligible for physical therapy licensure in California.
Successful applicant will be expected to provide leadership in ongoing curriculum development, integration and assessment. Faculty are also expected to participate in student advisement, have an active scholarly agenda, participate in department and college committees and be active in professional organizations.
