Mount St. Mary’s College is seeking a Director to develop and implement a new MFA program in Cinema. Responsibilities of this position include coordinating the organization and development of program facilities which will serve as the learning environments for our masters' students, including an editing laboratory and studio. Additionally, the Director will be responsible to administer the budget, and to work with the department chair in selecting faculty and film and editing equipment for the MFA program. Students will be admitted to the program in January 2014. It is expected that the Director will teach a minimum of one course per year.
The successful candidate should possess significant experience in all aspects of film production, as well as teaching experience at the higher education level. A master’s level degree is required, with a MFA in film or cinema preferred.
