From Okinawa and the Philippines, to inner city Philadelphia, Dr. Baker's nursing experiences provide a solid foundation for her nursing practice. Her background is predominantly critical care and cardiac rehabilitation nursing. Dr. Baker decided to become a nurse educator because she felt that her biggest impact on patients would be helping to prepare the next generation of nurses. She has taught nursing at the Diploma, Associate, and Baccalaureate levels. After completing a PhD in Nursing Education, her focus now is to help prepare the next generation of nurse educators.
Dr. Baker teaches both theory and clinical Intermediate Medical-Surgical Nursing at the ADN level. She is Assistant Director of the ADN program at College of the Canyons in Valencia, California.
