Dr. Diane Morey is Assistant Dean of Allied Health and Public Safety and Nursing Program Director at College of the Canyons where she has worked since 1994. She has taught beginning to advanced Medical Surgical Nursing as well as Pediatrics and Obstetrical Nursing in the ADN program, in addition to BSN and MSN courses at CSU's. Her particular expertise is in teaching online courses. She has over 30 years of experience as a Registered Nurse with a nursing background that includes positions in Adult Medical Surgical Intensive Care, Pediatrics, Pediatric Intensive Care, and as a School Nurse. She holds certification from the National League for Nursing as a Certified Nurse Educator. In addition, she is an ELNEC (End of Life Nursing Education Consortium) instructor . Her professional memberships include Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society and National League of Nursing. Her master's degree from CSUDH had a dual focus in nursing education and parent and child clinical specialist. She has completed her PhD in Education with a specialization of instructional design for online learning at Capella University. Her dissertation was titled "Effectiveness of Web-Based Animated Pedagogical Agents: Facilitating Critical Thinking of Nursing Students", recently she published an article on the topic in Nursing Education Perspectives.
