Jim Kennett, better known as “Nurse Jim,” coordinates the nursing lab and teaches in both the Associate Degree and Accelerated Bachelor’s nursing programs. Students are likely to have him as an instructor or for more skills lab experience outside their normal lab time. During his 30 year career in nursing, he brings a unique prospective from “moving up the ranks” in nursing: being a CNA, LVN, RN, Family Nurse Practitioner and currently a PhD student in Nursing. His research interest is in middle-range nursing theory development for people with diabetes. He is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, Honor Society of Nursing; Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, and Alpha Mu Gamma, National Collegiate Foreign Language Honor Society.
