Learning Goal

Student Learning Outcome

Disciplinary Content Knowledge: Demonstrate competence in techniques, concepts, and knowledge specific to Psychology.

Students should demonstrate proficiency in major content areas in the discipline of psychology: clinical evaluation, crisis management, treatment plan based on theoretical framework, treatment, human diversity, law, ethics. (Outcome 1)

Demonstrate the ability to access analyze, synthesize, and evaluate information effectively.

Students will demonstrate the ability to access, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate information effectively. (Outcome 2)

Research Competence: Students will demonstrate research skills and methods through the ability to gather, document, investigate, analyze, interpret and evaluate information.

Students will demonstrate research skills and methods appropriate to the discipline of counseling psychology (Outcome 3)

Communication: Communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Students will demonstrate the ability to communicate orally. (Outcome 4)

Students will demonstrate the ability to communicate in writing. (Outcome 5)

Ethics: Students will demonstrate knowledge of the implications of a diverse society to the profession of Psychology and demonstrate the skills to address the moral and ethical challenges within the profession.
