Dear Prospective Candidates,
Welcome to the Education Department at Mount St. Mary's College in Los Angeles. I invite you to take a few minutes to explore our Graduate Programs in Education, what students have to say about us, and our various News and Events stories. I am pleased to tell you that we have a variety of programs for any stage of your teaching career, from the Preliminary Credential through the Clear Credential, and on to becoming a teacher leader. Whether you want to change your career, hone skills, or give back as a veteran teacher leader, we have courses that will meet your needs. We also help you navigate the complex California State credentialing requirements through our one-on-one advisement processes. Program Directors have appointments available each week and would be pleased to have a one-on-one meeting with you because that's the level of attention you can expect from the Mount. To schedule an appointment, please call Jill Verceles at 213-477-2620. If you’d like to learn more about our program, please view the video posted at the right side of this page, titled “MSMC Masters Degree.” I look forward to meeting you. Happy exploring, and I wish you a wonderful day.
Shelly Tochluk, Chair
Do you have two or more years of teaching experience? Become a teacher leader on your campus!
Our Instructional Leadership Masters Degree and 15-unit Certificate program allow you to take exciting courses that will improve your ability to coach and mentor other teachers, develop meaningful curriculum and assessment, engage students, write grants for classroom resources, and provide professional development to your colleagues.
Earning an Individually Designed Program (IDP) Masters in Education at the Mount allows teachers who already possess a preliminary credential to “mix and match” graduate level education courses, taking the classes that will be of most value to you. You may choose to clear your credential, take select Instructional Leadership or Special Education courses, work towards an additional authorization on your credential (either elementary or secondary), and more. Come speak with an advisor to learn about your options!
Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
We offer personalized information sessions with an advisor or program director every week. Please call Jill Verceles at 213-477-2620 to schedule your individual appointment. We work around your schedule.
