Dr. Michael Heim has been invited to contribute to the upcoming Handbook of Virtual Environments to be published by CRC Press in 2013. The Handbook of Virtual Environments brings together a group of world-renowned international contributors to present a systematic and extensive introduction to the primary areas of research and development within VE technology. The 1st Edition of this handbook proved to be one of LEA's top selling edited volumes, and Dr. Heim’s chapter was deemed to have “contributed greatly to the appeal and impact on the field.”

“I also did a presentation in Lyon, France, in January 2008. A book from that conference is now coming out and includes my keynote presentation. I originally gave my talk in French as "Apprendre à naviguer entre les livres, les ordinateurs portables et la discussion en face-à-face." The book will contain the French as well as an English translation of it as "Shifting Focus: From Books to Laptops to Face-to-Face Discussion." The book is called "Ecritures: sur les traces de Jack Goody."
