Susan D'Antuono, adjunct faculty for MSN programs, passed the certification examination in Nursing Professional Development administered by American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). This certification validates nursing specialty knowledge in the area of staff development and demonstrates meeting nationally recognized standards.
D'Antuono practices as an Adult Medical Surgical Clinical Nurse Specialist at Huntington Hospital and has precepted graduate CNS students for over 10 years. Her practice incorporates the patient, nurse, and system spheres of influence in managing house-wide projects at Huntington Hospital related to medication reconciliation, fall prevention, and many others. D'Antuono participates in regulatory compliance, policy and procedure development/review, and staff education. In addition to being a member of the Nursing Practice Council, Informatics Council, and Evidence Based Practice / Nursing Research Council she chairs the Nursing Peer Review Council, advises the Patient Education Council, and has been a voting member of the International Review Board for over 5 years. She has completed two studies: temperature management and injury prevention using fall mats. She wrote 16 standards providing evidence for Magnet designation which Huntington Hospital was awarded in March, 2011.
D'Antuono teaches the practicum course for our Clinical Nurse Specialist graduate students: NUR 250A, 250B, 250C.
