Roy Adaptation Model Conference Held on Campus

About 70 educators, researchers and nurses attended the Roy Adaptation Association Conference at the Doheny Campus in June. The health care professionals participated in two days of workshops, discussions and presentations on the Roy Adaptation Model, which is a problem-solving approach that focuses on a patient's ability to cope and adapt. The model was developed by Sister Callista Roy, CSJ, '63, who served as the College's chair of nursing from 1971 to 1982. Sister Callista Roy, now a professor and nurse theorist at Boston College in Massachusetts, was the conference’s keynote speaker.
