Academic Technology - Instructor FAQ

Academic Technology supports the following technologies:

Angel

Learning Management Suite is a content management system, used by Mount St. Mary's College as its online course management. The use of ANGEL allows faculty to distribute materials electronically, collaborate and communicate with their students online.

Academic Multi-Media Manager

The Academic Multi-Media Manager allows an instructor to upload media files, such as short videos and podcasts, generating links that can be copied into Angel, where students can access the media.

Clickers/Student Response System

The Student Response System (SRS or Clickers) allows instructors to engage their students in a lesson by answering questions in real time, displaying how class responses are divided and sharing that information with students in real time.  Student responses are monitored and can be used for later assessment.

SRS/Clickers can be used in class as part of a PowerPoint presentation or as a standalone application.

Tablet PCs

Tablet PCs allow faculty members to annotate their presentation in class, using Classroom Presenter, later saving and optionally sharing the annotated lecture with Students.
