Bachelor of Science in NursingWelcome to Nursing! The baccalaureate program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and the California Board of Registered Nursing. Graduates of the BSN nursing program are eligible for certification as public health nurses and for licensure as registered nurses. The students in the program mirror the diversity of our Los Angeles community. Clinical nursing experiences are provided in collaboration with hospitals and agencies throughout Los Angeles County. Admission to the nursing program is competitive. Both acceptance to and continuation in the nursing major will be determined by the student's preparation and academic performance as assessed by the Department of Nursing Admissions Committee. The BSN program offers the nursing student a balance of hands-on learning with sound theory. Its an exciting time for nursing! Our nursing graduates have career options that simply didn't exist just a few short years ago. Vast new opportunities are opening up in the field of nursing. Today's graduates are finding fulfillment in such fast-expanding areas as home care, community health, other outpatient sites, long-term care, schools, nursing management as well as hospitals and ambulatory care settings.
