After Applying

Once the application documents have been received, the file will be evaluated and a decision made by the Admission Committee. Approximately two weeks after the Committee's decision, the student will be notified by mail and via our website. Several decisions may be made.

  1. The student is admitted and if she is appying for financial aid, the Office of Student Financing is notified.
  2. If the student applied for admission to the Baccalaureate Program at Chalon and the Committee believes that her record shows the need for further preparation, the student may be admitted under the Alternative Access Program to the Doheny Associate of Arts Degree Program.
  3. The student may be admitted on a conditional basis if extraordinary circumstances call for this decision. If so, the student will be required to meet conditions set in her letter of admission, including earning"C's" or better and finishing a contract sent by the Learning Center staff.
  4. The student may be denied and directed to another college to fulfill requirements before reapplying for admission to Mount St. Mary's College.
  5. Admitted students will be required to submit a $100 tuition deposit to hold their places in the entering classes. For students entering the Fall semester, this tuition deposit is due by May 1 or within two weeks of the receipt of a financial aid package, whichever is later. For Spring semester, this deposit is due in early January. The tuition deposit is not refundable under any circumstances and will be credited directly to the student's account in the Business Office.
