Spiritual Growth & Community on Campus

Names of our deceased loved ones In the month of November, we remember in prayer the members of the Mount community who have died: our staff, faculty, students, alums, friends and family members. We invite you to share the names of your deceased loved ones; we will post their names in our campus chapels. We will also remember them in a special Mass of Remembrance in November 2009 on both campuses. You are especially invited to take part in these Masses. CLICK HERE starting in October 2009 to enter names you would like us to remember.

Reflection Group (CLC) Also known as faith-sharing or (CLC) Christian Life Community groups; they are comprised of 4-8 students or staff who gather weekly or bi-weekly to read the upcoming Sunday scripture and reflect on its meaning in their lives and in society. The meetings often include music and end with group prayer. They are an excellent way to make new friends.

Congress 2004Religious Education Congress 2008 was February 28 - March 2. We attended the largest annual gathering of Catholics in the world! This amazing weekend includes:

  • workshops
  • liturgies of various cultures
  • opportunities for prayer, confession, adoration
  • concerts and a dance
  • and much more!

We had a great time and look forward to next year's Congress! See a slideshow here.

Reading Materials On issues of spirituality, personal development, and church teaching are available for your use in brochure racks around campus. The leaflets are free, so please help yourself. If you cannot find what you are looking for, feel free to come by Campus Ministry and let us help you find one that suits your needs.

Prayer Partners Students, staff, faculty and the CSJ community often connect by being prayer partners, supporting each other on a personal basis through letters and email.

Prayer and Film (Faith and Flicks) Check out a good movie on campus and a short prayer afterward -- refreshments and good company are always a part of this evening.

Carondelet Center Adopt-A-Sister Program Carondelet Center, just down the hill from Chalon campus, is the home of many retired Sisters of St. Joseph. Some students "adopt" a sister whom they visit and correspond with, while others participate in theme group activities for the sisters. Click here for more info!
