Student Services Associate - Financial Services

Location: Doheny Campus (Downtown LA)

Will provide Remarkable Customer Service by being a first point of contact in Building 745. The incumbent will
provide responses to inquiries or provide general information related to all Student Services departments.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.    Initial point of contact in the Student Service’s Building. Incumbent will personally greet every individual
entering the building, inquire if students have questions, and provide direction or referrals as needed.   If
unable to resolve inquiries, representative will direct student to the appropriate department (walk them there,
if possible) or contact the department in advance.   Contact with student should not end until student’s needs
are met.

The incumbent will assist in answering questions pertaining to the departments located in the Student Services Building, including:

          a.    Bursar’s (Business) Office
          b.    Office of Student Financing
          c.    Registrar’s Office
          d.    Admission’s Office
          e.    Advisement

2.    Incumbent will be responsible for working during all Weekend Format sessions (often on Saturdays and

       the Student Services Building.

4.    Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements: 
Strong working knowledge of basic mathematics. Good working knowledge of computers as well as spreadsheet, database and word-processing software applications. Knowledge of all phases of the student lifecycle and a strong working knowledge of the following departments: 

          a.    Bursar’s (Business) Office
          b.    Office of Student Financing
          c.    Registrar’s Office
          d.    Admission’s Office
          e.    Advisement

Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner. Incumbent must possess strong analytical
skills, and pay attention details. Initiative, creativity, and sound judgment are needed to resolve problems and
ensure efficiency in work process as well as provide Remarkable Customer Service. Must be able to handle
multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Incumbent must possess strong organizational, interpersonal and
communication skills. Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Minimum of one-year in a customer service related field. Experience in higher education and knowledge of the
student lifecycle preferred.

High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university preferred.
