Julie Feldman-Abe, Ph.D. is the Director of Elementary Teacher Preparation Program at Mount St. Mary’s College. She also directs the Mount’s Center for Cultural Fluency.
Dr. Feldman-Abe completed her Ph.D. at New York University. Her dissertation, entitled, “We’re All Foreigners Here: What Adult Mentors Learn from Youth in Urban Schools” explores the intercultural learning process of educators working with diverse youth. She has taught in a variety of public, private, and community-based settings in New York City and has also worked as an intercultural communication consultant in both educational and corporate settings. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Brown University. She has done research in Mexico, Brazil, and India, and speaks Spanish.
