First-Year & Non-Nursing Transfer Students
We hope you find what you need on these pages. We've posted most of what you need here to ensure your transition to the Mount. We will add more information as it becomes available and at the appropriate time. Spring 2008 Information will be posted as soon as it becomes available.
IMPORTANT NEWS & INFORMATION
NEW STUDENT PARKING INFORMATION UPDATES
- Starting Fall 2008, Mount St. Mary’s College Chalon resident freshman students are permitted to bring cars to campus.
- Mount St. Mary's College Doheny resident freshman students are not permitted to bring cars to campus. The College will not offer parking permits to freshmen resident students.
A number of solutions to help Doheny freshmen get off campus for social, public service, and other discretionary purposes have been created.
For more information regarding parking on campus, you can contact the Facilities Department office at (310) 954-4340. For services on how to get off campus, you can contat the Office of Residence Life (310) 954-4325 [Chalon] / (213) 477-2661 [Doheny].
WEBADVISOR
WebAdvisor is The Mount's online tool that you will be using througout your time here. You will use it to confirm enrollment, check financial aid, search for classes, register for classes and more.
You should have already received a letter with your username and password. You will need these to access this tool. CLICK HERE TO GET YOUR LOG-IN INFO!
MSMC EMAIL
MSMC uses email as the official form of communication with our students. Important information is sent to your MSMC email account and it's your responsibility to check it often. You should have received a letter with your email address and password information. If you did not receive it, please contact the MSMC HelpDesk and provide your MSMC Student ID, as it is secured. Just call (213) 477-2970 or (866) 224-6968. Your student ID # should be in the bottom left corner of your MSMC Admission Letter.
TESTING, ADVISING & REGISTRATION
All entering students to MSMC must take a series of placement exams in English, math, and modern language (choice of French, Spanish or Japanese). Incoming science majors must also take a chemistry placement exam. You must complete exams prior to Orientation in order to finalize your Fall class schedule. You will be receiving more information about this in the mail. The test dates are below:

PLACEMENT TEST INFORMATION
Advisement and Registration
During Orientation (see below), students will meet with a faculty advisor to discuss their educational plans at the Mount, and register for Fall classes.
All testing begins at 8:30 a.m.
Summer Skills for Doheny Students:
July 28-August 15, 2008, 8:30-2:00 p.m. daily (M-F).
The 2008 rate for Summer Skills will be $150 for the 3-week program. More information will be sent to you soon!
