I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies at California State University, Northridge and Masters of Science in Education at Mount St. Mary’s College. I have seventeen years experience in a Catholic school environment which served diverse students in the San Fernando Valley. As a teacher, my time in the classroom with students was very rewarding. As principal, I managed my time in a way that enabled me to work with teachers and to spend time in the classrooms as much as possible. I have taught at Mount St. Mary’s College since 2001 and joined the Education Department faculty full-time in 2003. I teach a few different courses and coordinate the early fieldwork and supervised teaching fieldwork for the elementary, secondary, and special education programs as well as coordinating the California Teaching Performance Assessment which all teacher candidates in elementary and secondary preparation programs at the college must complete. Professionally, I have particular interest in how assessment is used to inform instruction and curriculum development.
