Duties of the Vice-President for Service
The Duties and Responsibilities of the Vice President for Service shall be:
- Executive Board member.
- To serve as the Chair of the ASB Women’s Issues Committee responsible for the planning and coordination DASB’s participation in the DOJ Grant initiative, Take Back the Night, the Clothesline Project, and related events.
- To serve as Chair of the Communication Committee comprised of the Academic Affairs Senator, Freshman Senator, and Sophomore Senator.
- To coordinate all service projects within DASB such as the Global Awareness Initiative (GAI).
- To preside at meetings of the DASB Senate and the Executive Board in the absence of the DASB President, DASB Executive Vice President, and Vice President for Campus Events.
- To be present at all DASB Senate meetings.
- Assumes the responsibilities of the President in the event of the resignation of the DASB President, DASB Executive Vice President, and the Vice President for Campus Events.
- To act as liaison with any and all community service organizations that DASB has contact with.
- To liaise with the Office of Community Engagement.
- To plan and organize one campus wide community service event as mandated by circumstance and the DASB President, to be assisted by the appropriate bodies in the Senate.
- Must assist in the transition of the newly elected Vice President for Service following the Athenian Awards Reception (or Laurel Day) and before the last week of the Spring semester. In the event that the position is left vacant in the Spring, resource materials must be submitted to the newly elected Executive Board.
- Be present in the DASB office for at least three (3) hours per week.
- To serve the interest of the Student Body of Mount St. Mary's College above all else.
