NUR 102 Professional Issues in Nursing Practice and Education (2)
This course is designed to assist the student in analysis of professional nursing issues. The significance and impact of these issues on nursing practice will be presented. Role transition will be explored with an emphasis on personal growth and the development of a career plan addressing both professional and educational aspects.

NUR 103 Leadership Styles and Managing a Diverse Workforce (2)
This course is designed to prepare students for leadership and management roles in the professional setting. Health care policy and change theory are introduced. Emphasis is placed on critical decision-making, collaboration, leadership, and functioning as a team member using principles of leadership and management within diverse settings.

NUR 104 Leadership Practicum (1.5)
This course is designed so that students will be able to utilize a collaborative leadership style in applying the nursing process to leadership and management principles in the health care setting. A major change theory project will be selected in collaboration with a preceptor to address an issue relating to the setting utilized for the clinical experience.

NUR 105 Community and Public Health Nursing Theory (2.5)
This course is designed to prepare students to assess the health needs of individuals, families, aggregates, and communities. Application of the nursing process will be discussed related to the actual and potential diseases and illnesses, violence, and disaster management that present themselves in the communities. The goal of this course is to assist students to understand the theories of disease control, prevention, and management in order to promote the public health of aggregates, communities and nations. This course is also based on the principles established within the Healthy People 2010 Objectives. This course must be taken prior to or concurrent with the community / public health practicum.

NUR 106 Community and Public Health Nursing Practicum (2)
This course is designed so that students will be able to utilize and apply knowledge and concepts of community and public health in various agencies. The length of this experience is based on the required hours (90), established by the Board of Registered Nursing, and mandatory in order for the graduate to be able to apply for the public health nurse certificate.  

NUR 144A Technology of Professional (TOP) Presentations (1)
This course is designed for students who are interested in integrating multimedia into their professional presentations. Recognizing that technological advancement serves as a catalyst for innovative methods of communication, this course will equip students with the skills necessary to create presentations using various multimedia resources to complement their chosen discipline. Course content also provides skills that will assist students in developing their presentation techniques and computer literacy.

NUR 144B Technology of Professional (TOP) Presentations (1)

This course will focus on intermediate and advanced skills essential to the creation of engaging multi-media presentations. Prerequisite: NUR 144A or consent of instructor.
