Educational Opportunties in Sustainable Living Skills
Sustainable Ecological Systems
April 28-June 1
Together we will examine the various ecological systems that support us, both here at Aprovecho and in urban settings. The program will revolve around four themes: Food, Waste, Energy, and Urban Alternatives.
Sustainable Living Skills & Permaculture Design
June 16-August 8
This eight week accredited program teachers Organic Agriculture, Ecological Forestry, Appropriate Technology, and Permaculture Design. Upon successful completion, interns receive a Permaculture Design Certificate and hands on experience , College credit is also available for this program.
100 Mile Diet Research
Sept.1-Oct. 13th
We intend to cover all aspects of food: from seed to table, to composting to community. Four of the six weeks we will eat strictly from within 100-miles of Aprovecho, which will necessitate a trip to the coast for fist and salt, gardening, wild fermentation, animal husbandry, gleaning, wildcrafting, and more.

Volunteers For Peace
Volunteers for Peace is a non-proft membership organization that offers placement in over 3000 volunteer projects in more than 100 countries. VFP also organizes 50-60 service projects in the United States each year. We exchange volunteers with our international partners, who organize the projects taking place in their own countries.
