Important Information for Student Employees

As a result of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 all employees including student employees working on campus must verify they are citizens or aliens authorized to work. Therefore, an additional form (1-9 form) must be completed by you and certain documents must be presented to us before you may work on campus. You must have these documents with your when you come to the Student Employment Office (Chalon) or Office of Student Finanding (Doheny) for a job referral.

You will not be permitted to work on campus until an 1-9 form is completed, so be prepared when you come to the Student Employement Office (Chalon) or Office of Student Financing (Doheny) and have with you the Original Documents as explained above. You must present to us one document from List A OR one document from list B AND one document from list C.

United States Passport (unexpired or expired)

Driver's license or I.D. card issued by a state or outlying possession of the United States provided it contains a photograph of information such as name, date of birth, gender, height, eye color, and address.

U.S. Social Security Card issued by the Social Security Administration (other than a card stating it is not valid for employment)

Certificate of U.S. Citizenship (INS Form N-560 or N-561)

I.D. card issued by federal, state or local government agencies or entities, provided it contains a photograph of information such as name, date of birth, gender, height, eye color, and address.

Certification of Birth Abroad issued by the Department of State (Form FS-545 or Form DS-1350)

Certificate of Naturalization (INS Form N-550 or N-570)

School identification card with a photograph

Original or certified copy of a birth certificate issued by the state, county, municipal authority or outlying possession of the United States bearing an official seal.

Unexpired foreign passport with I-551 stamp or attached INS Form 1-94 indicating unexpired employment authorization

Voter's registration card

Native American tribal document

Permanent Resident Card or Alien Registration Receipt card with photograph (INS Form I-151 or I-551)

U.S. Military card or draft record

U.S. Citizen I.D. Card (INS Form I-197)

Unexpired Temporary Resident Card (INS Form I-668)

Military dependent's I.D. card

I.D. card for use of Resident Citizen in the United States (INS Form I-179)

Unexpired employment authorization document issued by the INS (other than those listed under List A)

Driver's license issued by a Canadian government authority

Unexpired Employment Authorization Document Issued by the INS which contains a photograph (INS Form I-688B)
