Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology

Scholarship InformationA message from Diane Dameron, Mount St. Mary's College, Los Angeles MFT Class of 1986

"I believe that my MSMC graduate psychology education was truly excellent back then.

I became a licensed MFT in 1991. I have taught child development at the community college level.  I practiced many years in non-profit community centers.

I recently completed eight years of full time work at the Fleet and Family Support Center, Naval Station North Island. I provided clinical counseling to active duty military members, family members, and their children. My work included responding to any civilian critical incidents on base, as well as setting up twenty-four hour family information centers at times such as the September 11, 2001 tragedies, and the wild fires.

It was wonderful work. I believe that my Mount St. Mary's liberal arts undergraduate and graduate education assisted me greatly. I still can't say enough positive things about it.

I would like to encourage prospective students to choose the Mount St. Mary's College, Los Angeles MFT program.  I believe that it prepared me for my rigorous clinical internships.  I believe it prepared me to work in different organizations.  It certainly prepared me to assist in critical fleet support during these very difficult times."
