The Scholar Mentor Club

Our Mission:

The Scholar Mentor Club (SMC) represents the entire pool of Chalon student tutors. Once a student is hired to tutor their peers, they automatically become a member of the SMC.

• Our mission is to provide the highest quality tutorial and academic services to the Mount community, while maintaining our own academic excellence.

The Scholar Mentor Club regularly celebrates the work of its members with semester ending banquets and a series of awards for recognition. Training is based on standards established by the national College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA).

Our Activities

Our foremost priority is serving the student body while sustaining our own performance. Secondly, we recognize the responsibilities of maintaining a campus club. We periodically sponsor fund raisers by selling food or providing items for sale. The proceeds are deposited in the club account for activities such as banquets, trips, or club sponsored events. We ask that all SMC members participate in at least one fund raiser per semester. Members are welcome to get involved as much as they wish, but ultimately, we aspire to involve everyone. While every member may not be available to participate due to their schedules, we always recognize the contributions of our scholar mentors/tutors, and we invite all of them to our banquets.
