The Vantage Point speaker forum is back this fall.  Our first presenter will be Ms. Gina Quatrine, Founder & CEO of Quatrine Custom Furniture.  Her presentation is scheduled for Thursday, October 11, at 1 p.m., location: Campus Center on the Chalon campus.  Gina is from Southern California and graduated from Cal State, San Diego.  Before starting Quatrine custom Furniture, Gina had lived in Spain where she had opened a restaurant.  It was there that she also learned about fabrics and the business of textiles and home furnishings.  Gina has a clear understanding of and hard earned experience with the demands of being an entrepreneur.  She will share with us her perspective on what it really takes to start your own business - and succeed!  Meet and learn from a true business entrepreneur!  "The Vantage Point, A Forum for Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders.  Sponsored by the Department of Business Administration and the Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society."

For information contact Dennis Signorovitch at (310) 375-8201 or Olga Medina at (310) 954-4150.

The Vantage Point Speaker Series presents Jennifer Gonzalez, director of Hispanic Practice at PainePR from 1 to 2 p.m. on Nov. 15 in the Chalon Campus Center.  The talk is the latest in a lecture series the department launched in 2006 to help students prepare for issues they will face in today’s business world.

Gonzalez specializes in developing strategic campaigns that reach the Hispanic market in the United States and Mexico. Her clients have included American Suzuki, Sony Electronics, the California Student Aid Commission's Cal Grant program, the California Department of Public Health, and Proctor & Gamble.

Earlier in her career, Gonzalez worked with a number of other major organizations and products such as Hormel Foods, Wells Fargo, and H&R Block. A native of Mexico City, she was also a senior editor at Ask.com.

In fall 2006, the Vantage Point Speaker Series included a woman executive from Honeywell, the CEO of the Latin Business Association, an executive from Style Network/E! Entertainment, and the founder of a national personnel services company -- all of whom encouraged students not to just dream about that corner office but also to plan the steps they will need to take to create successful careers.
