Athenians in leadership: MSMC alum named to PFSweb board of directors

Monica Luechtefeld '71, an MSMC alum and member of the College's board of trustees, has been named to the board of directors of PFSweb, an international business specializing in e-commerce solutions.

Monica Spillane Luechtefeld ’71 has been appointed to the board of directors for PFSweb, Inc., an international business that provides eCommerce solutions for influential companies and major brand names throughout the world.

With more than 20 years of experience in the industry, Luechtefeld has held executive leadership positions within Office Depot in multiple departments, including eCommerce, supply chain, information technology, marketing and business development. Her tenure at Office Depot included roles such as executive vice president of European eCommerce and executive vice president of eCommerce and Digital Marketing.  

“Monica is a recognized industry leader in eCommerce and digital media,” said Mike Willoughby, CEO of PFSweb. “Monica's impressive operations, technology, business development and online retail experience in the U.S. and Europe will be a valuable asset to our organization.”

A 1971 graduate of Mount St. Mary’s with a bachelor of science in nursing, Luechtefeld also has an honorary doctorate from the College. She has spoken at campus events, and serves on the Mount’s board of trustees. Luechtefeld also serves on the board of trustees for the March of Dimes, and she was an appointee to the Homeland Security Private Sector Senior Advisory Committee.

Luechtefeld’s leadership has served a number of other organizations, including as a founder and board member of the Open Buying on the Internet Consortium; an advisory board member for Internet Retailer magazine; a member of the Business Roundtable Technology and Cyber Security Board; and as a board member for the Institute for the Economic Empowerment of Women.
