Lisa Melou and the Green Team brought Earth Day to campus on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the Circle. Held from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm, the event allowed Mount students to learn more about the importance of leading an environmentally friendly lifestyle. Students, faculty, and staff were able to play with the puppies from the West LA Animal Shelter, learn about locally-grown food from our very own Bon Appetit, get henna tattoos, and listen to some great music courtesy of AMP Radio. Students were excited and hungry to learn more about how we all have a role in having a sustainable future.
From the constant "aww" of the crowd around the puppies to the intense looks of interest and concentration of the faces listening to Earth Day news, Earth Day 2012 was a surefire hit at Mount St. Mary’s College. As the 2011-2012 school year comes to an end, students, staff, and faculty will walk away with the knowledge and inspiration to live healthy, and more importantly, GREEN lives.
