For the first time at Mount St. Mary’s College, Student leaders of the Associated Student Body collaborated to coordinate the first Miss Athena and Mr. Zeus Pageant. On November 10, 2009, Miss Athena and Mr. Zeus candidates were challenged with several categories of talent and spirit to ultimately claim the title of Miss Athena and Mr. Zeus. These challenges were: mount wear, evening wear, culture wear, talent and a questionnaire round. These challenges allowed the student candidates to express their Mount spirit and share their talents. 

The winners of this year’s pageant for Miss Athena was Bridgette Miranda and for Mr. Zeus, Cameron Wright.

“It was a cool event. It was a really good way to get the Mount community together,” says Cameron Wright.

Brittney Saldana, a spectator, says, “I am definitely looking forward to attending next years pageant because I felt that there was a lot of cultural awareness and diversity.”
