Students had the opportunity to interact with the CSJs. |
The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet play a very important role here at Mount St. Mary’s. They are very well loved by all the students and on March 23, 2011 the Mount community was able to participate in the annual CSJ Appreciation Day. This event is a great opportunity students have in which they can personally come to interact with the sisters and get to know them. The CSJ’s were on campus to take part in this event and gladly spoke with students about any topic in general. Whether about majors or just the weather the sisters were very happy to be with the students learning about one another in a deeper meaning.
This year was special because the Mount community paid tribute to the Jubilarians. All the sister’s present are wonderful and amazing and this year the Mount highlighted some magnificent achievements from some of the sisters. The sisters that were recognized received a lace from Dr. Doud: celebrating 50 years were Sr. Marilyn Louise Binder, Sr. Carlotta DiLorenzo; 60 years included Sr. Anita Joseph Aragon, Sr. Katheen Mary McCarthy, Sr. Margaret Anne Vonderahe, and Sr. Marie Bernadette Walsh; Sr. Patricia Margaret Barnard was recognized with 75 years; and lastly the tribute of 80 years was given to Sr. Mary Constance Fitzgerald.
All the sisters are very important to the Mount and this will be demonstrated annually by CSJ Appreciation Day 2012. Students will have the opportunity to join the sisters again and interact with them helping the Mount pay tribute showing them just how important they are to the Mount community.
