Mission Statement
Focus on awareness of health risks and positive health practices that will become part of each student's life.
Values
In Student Health Services, emphasis is placed on preventive medicine and on positive health practices which will become a part of each student's lifestyle. Programs designed to assist students in developing values and skills related to achieving a high level of health are presented each semester. Incoming freshmen and transfer students, both resident and commuters, must submit a current health history, proof of current immunization and complete physical examination prior to entrance. Additional health requirements exist for students enrolled in programs with clinical affiliations.
Nurses are available for treatment of illnesses, minor injuries, vaccinations, laboratory testing and health education. In addition, appointments for physical examinations may be made with the nurse practitioner.
Students may access either health center for nurse visits or nurse practitioner visits. There is no cost to the student for provider visits; however, supplemental fees for physical exams, laboratory testing and prescription medications may be assessed.
Referrals for a medical specialist and emergency services are also available.
