Women's Leadership

The mission of Mount St. Mary's College Women's Leadership is to engage students in the leadership process by providing leadership education, skill-building, and opportunities for action and reflection. We strive to develop confident and conscientious leaders dedicated to making a difference in the lives of others. 

Women’s Leadership is founded upon the relational model of leadership, defining leadership as the process of people working together to accomplish change and make a difference for the common good.

Women's Leadership Programs

Women’s Leadership provides several general workshops throughout the year. In addition, we offer tailored workshops to student organizations and academic classes. Women's Leadership also coordinates:

  • Annual Women's Leadership Conference 
  • Chalon & Doheny Associated Student Body (student government)
  • Clubs & Organizations on both campuses
  • Leadership Bootcamp, which is a day-long event focused on team-building skills
  • The Leadership Scholar Program
  • The LEAD Program (Leaders Emerging at Doheny)
  • MSMC Chapter of The National Society of Leadership & Success (NSLS)
  • The Leadership Portfolio 
  • First-Year Student & Transfer Orientation Programs
  • Orientation Leader Training
  • Annual Athenian Awards Reception, which recognizes student leader accomplishments
  • Student participation in Public Leadership Education Network (PLEN) Seminars in Washington, D.C.
  • Various other civic education programs and opportunities
