Purpose
Theta Alpha Sigma is a Catholic based service and social sorority, which was founded on the premise of the following Six Core Elements: sisterhood, academic support, emotional support, community service, school participation, and spiritual growth.
Theta Alpha Sigma encourages the development of true, lifelong sisterhood through social activities. Theta Alpha Sigma provides its members with full academic and emotional support through an internal support base, as well as referrals to tutoring and counseling. Theta Alpha Sigma is involved in community service projects and remains active within the campus community. It also fosters, develops, and enriches the Catholic (Christian) faith through prayer, retreats, and reflection.
Theta Alpha Sigma upholds Six Core Elements: academic support, emotional support, sisterhood, individual spiritual growth, community service and school participation.

Sigma Theta Psi was formed on November 13, 1991 at San Jose State by 18 women seeking to solidify and immortalize the values and responsibilities which embodied their persons.
Purpose
The purpose of the Chapter is to form a relationship amongst a group of individuals who will carry on a lifetime friendship with each other. They shall create a special bond and learn to grow spiritually. This Chapter will serve as a support group, educationally and emotionally. In addition, it will provide social and community involvement opportunities for the group.
