Services Provided at the Chalon Campus

STOPTrans

The STOPTrans service is for current Mount St. Mary's Chalon students only. STOPTrans is now offering afternoon and evening service, 7 days a week to various places around Westwood/West LA and Santa Monica/Venice. Shuttle stops include: the post office, the Westside Pavillion, UCLA Libraries, Santa Monica Place/Third Street Promenade, grocery stores, banks, the beach, the 99 cent store, and more. Residence Desk

The Residence Desk is available for our residents' convenience from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm, 7 days a week (unless otherwise noted in the Residence Desk schedule).  The Residence Desk, which is run by the Resident Assistants and our Residence Desk Workers, is a centrally located place where students can loan out items, ask questions, and submit work orders to repair things in their rooms.  The Residence Desk is located on Brady 1st floor and offers a variety of services such as:

Social lounges are located in all floors of Brady Hall, Rossiter Hall, Carondelet 1st floor, Carondelet 5th floor, Aldworth House, and Yates House. Social lounges are furnished with couches, tables, and cable television. Study lounges are located in Carondelet 2nd, Carondelet 3rd, and Carondelet 4th. Study lounges are furnished with tables and chairs.

Laundry Facilities

Laundry rooms are conveniently located on Brady 3rd, Carondelet 1st, and Rossiter 2nd. The cost for laundry is $0.75 to wash and $0.50 to dry.

Computer Labs

Computer labs are available for Chalon residents' use only. The computer labs are located on Brady 1st, Carondelet 1st, and Rossiter 1st. 

Mail

Residents receive their mailbox number and key during the first week after you move-in. There is a $10 refundable deposit that you need to make in order to get your mailbox key.  You will receive your $10 back when you return your mailbox key to the Mailroom at the end of the year. 

The Mailroom is located on the Ground Floor of Brady Hall. Stamps are also for sale at the Mailroom.  All mail must be removed by the time you check out of the residence halls. Otherwise, any remaining mail in your box will be disposed. Make sure you are checking your mailbox regularly, as many departments on campus send important information via your campus mailbox.

Services Offered at the Doheny Campus

At Doheny, residents may go to the specified location for the following items:

 Laundry Facilities: Laundry rooms are located on every floor in McIntyre, on the ground level next to the Fitness Center in House 8 1/2, in the back house in House 20, and in the second floor of Hannon Hall The cost for laundry is $0.75 to wash and $0.50 to dry.

 Lounges: Social lounges are located on all floors of McIntyre Hall and in each House. Each lounge is furnished with couches, tables, chairs, cable television, and 2 computers.

• Change (for laundry): You can get up to $3.00  of quarters at the Residence Life Office (Hannon 123). 
• Cleaning Supplies, Vacuums, Iron, and Ironing Boards: Students may use the cleaning supplies that are in the Residents' Building Living Area
• Keys: If you are locked out, please come to the Residence Life Office, located on Hannon Hall 1st floor (Monday-Friday, from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm). Please page the RA on duty when the Residence Life Office is closed.
• Work Order Requests: Residents may submit Work Order Requests at the Residence Life Office, Monday-Friday, from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Please know that Residence Life has no control on how long it takes for work orders to get completed.  Residents will receive an email from the Residence Life Office when their work order is processed.  The email will reference a work order number for your request.  If you wish to follow up with your request, please contact Facilities Management at (310) 954-4340 (Chalon) or (213) 477-2579.

Other Services (Both Campuses)

• Telephones: Telephones and voicemail service is provided for all residents. Each telephone is equipped with an open line that provides free on-campus calls. For questions or problems with telephones and phone service, please contact Telecommunications at x4357 (Chalon) or x2970 (Doheny).  All residents must use the College issued telephone. • Security: For the safety and security of all MSMC students, Security is on campus 24 hours a day, year round. Guards are stationed at the main entrance of the campuses. All cars will be required to stop at the entrance of the College to purchase a guest parking permit per day for $5 and give the guard the name of the host and her extension. Upon leaving the campus, guests are required to return their parking permit to indicate that they have left campus. For more information, visit the Campus Security website.
