“
Life is Beauty, Admire it.” – Mother Theresa
Being Pangkat’s 13th annual Pilipino Culture Night, the Club members worked and rehearsed long weeks and nights to prepare for the show.
“It was hard, but well worth it, practice would start at 6 pm to about midnight.” -- Zully Garcia
Unlike any other event on campus, it is an annual play that the Pilipino club does. This play not only does it entertain; it also incorporates an imperative lesson that many students can relate to.
This year’s play, Face Value, is a story about a young woman, named Riza, who struggles to accept her inner beauty. She is faced with portraying “the image” that everyone around her expects her to be; her boyfriend, the producer and herself. Along with the life lesson of “beauty is within,” Face Value also incorporates Pilipino Culture throughout the entire play. Cultural dances were demonstrated along with family values throughout the play.
Having attended the past 4 PCN’s Farrah Mullings states: “I felt that the storyline this year was very well written. The culture dance was new and entertaining and they did an excellent job on incorporating a lot of their club members throughout the show.”
