Alejandra Arreloa |
Involved and succeeding academically, Alejandra Arreola, is a fourth year student and will be graduating with a degree in both Philosophy and Spanish with an emphasis in translation and interpretation. After graduation Alejandra plans to continue her superior commitment and determination at the LA Superior Court Planning and Research Unit. Thereafter, she plans to go to law school and pursue a career as an FBI agent. Alejandra has done exceptionally well in the three years she has been at MSMC. She has been able to stay on the Dean’s List for the last three years. This accomplishment has also enabled her to be recognized by both the Philosophy and Spanish department. Since her first year of college, Alejandra won the Mary’s Day Department Award.
Alejandra does not only succeed in her academics, she is also able to personally grow through the relationships she has made with the Kappa Delta Chi Greek sorority and other people such as her advisor and supervisor. She is currently the Kappa Delta Chi President and the Sigma Delta Pi (also known as the Spanish honor Society) secretary.
“I use to be shy; it’s the simple things like speeches and conducting meetings and receiving awards that contributed to building my confidence. I’m proud to say that I’ve accomplished so much.”
Alejandra feels that her experience at the Mount has made her the person she is today. “Everything happens for a reason. I don’t believe in luck. I came to MSMC for a reason and because of that I’ve discovered Kappa Delta Chi and my love for philosophy. I think everything and everyone has a purpose in life; whether good or bad, it only helps us grow.”
For future graduates of the Mount, Alejandra advices students to, “get involved, get yourself out there. That’s the only way you can really get what the Mount has to offer. It’s not just about class, but living the college life and living it to the fullest.”
