Chloe Long, senior at Mount St. Mary’s, is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in political science with an emphasis in film and social justice. Chloe was a resident for the first two years at the Mount and currently is commuting. This is extremely difficult but she states that, “It makes me think about my day.” This has helped improve her skills with time management and become a better student.

On campus, she is involved in activities and organizations that are preparing her to be a strong leader. She is President of the Associated Student Body, Vice President of the sorority Theta Alpha Sigma, and a participant of Mock Trials. She finds that being involved is important for the college experience and recommends students join organizations because it gives them an opportunity to meet lifelong friends that “will always be there for you”.

Chloe is a leader on campus and academically successful with a GPA of 3.5. She also received an award for being Best Witness in the 2008 Mock Trial Competition. In the future, she plans to apply to law school and further her studies in entertainment or human rights law.

She advises students that the key to a successful life lies in a quote by Betty Ford. “Don’t Compromise yourself. You are all you got”. Her interpretation of the quote is that she must “make [herself] happy first and live life to the fullest”.
