"The Best of Both Worlds"
About the Project
"Latin America in LA-CA" is a work in progress created by Monsterrat Reguant's students. This project embraces the countries where Spanish is spoken in Central, South America and the Caribbean with a goal in mind: to search for the representation of these countries through their people or their descendants, mainly in the Los Angeles area.
About the Photo
"The Best of Both Worlds" was part of a documentary photo project called, "The Girls Project." There were five states in the project. California was one of them. It is a self portrait taken in 1998, when I was 15 years old. This image is one several from a series of photographs with the same theme in mind, The Best of Mexican and American Culture.
