Demonstrate selected skills of an educated person by analyzing, evaluating, and critically reflecting on subject matter knowledge obtained through coursework in the Liberal Studies Major.

In order to achieve these learning outcomes, as assessed by CSET, the Coordinator of the Liberal Studies Major will:

  1. Confirm that instructors of courses aligned with CSET have the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Content Domains for the courses they teach.
  2. Obtain feedback on CSET-identified reasons for students not passing CSET, according to subject matter area.
  3. Provide feedback on CSET scores & CSET-identified reasons for not passing to instructor of the aligned courses and to the appropriate department chairs on a bi-annual basis.
  4. Assure that all students entering the Concurrent Program of Teacher Preparation as Liberal Studies majors are able to demonstrate knowledge of CSET requirements, including deadlines for taking the tests

OUTCOME SUMMARY: Track CSET results. Evaluate pass/fail rates, including number of retakes. Use feedback loops established with academic departments to share results ; consider action plans for improvement.
