Bachelor of Science in Nursing

To be a nurse is to serve your patients, your community, and yourself through the joy of caring for those in need. It’s a higher calling that speaks to the spirit of service and commitment central to the mission of Mount St. Mary’s College.

The Mount was the first Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program in the State of California and, since our founding in 1928, we have graduated thousands into the nursing profession. Why not you?

As a Mount student, you’ll be considered for admission to our three-year program after completing a set of prerequisites. We instruct based on the world-renowned Roy Adaptation Model of professional nursing care, where every person is treated as a bio-psycho-social-spiritual being living in a complex world. Mount students understand the cultural, emotional and physical issues facing each patient, and provide them with care that is sensitive and respectful. We are proud that the Roy Model was developed by our former Nursing Chair, Sister Callista Roy, CSJ. Upon graduation, you will have received the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Baccalaureate Essentials and Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) competencies. You’ll be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) examination, and qualify to earn a California Public Health Nursing Certificate.

Best of all, your education will include real-world experience working in Los Angeles-area hospitals as part of clinical rotations. You’ll engage with patients and medical professionals on a level you won’t find anywhere else.

We welcome your interest in the Mount’s BSN program. Please contact the Admissions Office for further information.
