Welcome to Nursing! The Traditional BSN is a four-year baccalaureate program which is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and the California Board of Registered Nursing. Graduates of the BSN nursing program are eligible for certification as public health nurses and for licensure as registered nurses.
The students in the program mirror the diversity of our Los Angeles community. Clinical nursing experiences are provided in collaboration with hospitals and agencies throughout Los Angeles County. Admission to the nursing program is competitive. Both acceptance to and continuation in the nursing major will be determined by the student's preparation and academic performance as assessed by the Department of Nursing Admissions Committee.
The Traditional BSN offers the nursing student a balance of hands-on learning with sound theory. It’s an exciting time for nursing! Our nursing graduates have career options that simply didn't exist just a few short years ago. Vast new opportunities are opening up in the field of nursing. Today's graduates are finding fulfillment in such fast-expanding areas as home care, community health, other outpatient sites, long-term care, schools, nursing management as well as hospitals and ambulatory care settings.
High School Students: At the completion of your prerequisite courses at the Mount, you will be considered for entrance into the Tradition Bachelor of Science in Nursing (TBSN) Program. Admission into the TBSN Program is based upon your successful completion of required courses, cumulative grade point average, science and English curriculum grade point averages, score on the nursing entrance exam, essay, and demonstrated interest in the nursing profession. Please note that admission to the College does not constitute admission directly into the TBSN program.
