Philosophy Club

The Philosophy Department has a Philosophy Club for Mount St. Mary's College students. It is open to all Mount St. Mary's students, not just philosophy majors. All those interested in ideas and the imagination-- not to mention sharing thoughts with one another-- will want to be part of the Philosophy Club.

Getting together with others in the Philosophy Club offers you an intellectually stimulating atmosphere without worrying about deadlines or grades.

Instead, it's a chance to make friends, get a sense of our Mount community, develop leadership and support intellectual independence.

The Philosophy Club has sponsored outings (e.g., to Claremont Colleges to see Dead Sea Scrolls, to the Museum of Science for the "Body Worlds" exhibit, to the Japanese-American Museum in Little Tokyo, and to the Getty Museum here in L.A.). We've also had film nights and have discussions about the ideas raised. What fun!

Our Philosophy Club sponsor at the Chalon Campus is Prof. Micah Daily (mdaily@msmc.la.edu) and at the Doheny Campus it is Dr. Peter Tan (ptan@msmc.la.edu). Email them to get information about coming events!
